Human Crafted Foundation The proposed mark
HUMAN CRAFTED™
The human contribution. Made visible.
What did human beings contribute to making it?
The future HUMAN CRAFTED mark is intended to make meaningful human creative contribution recognisable through a documented account of how a work came to exist.
It concerns provenance, creative agency and responsibility. It is not a judgement of artistic quality, a claim of technological purity or an anti-AI label.
Framework in development. Certification is not currently available.
Principles
Make human creative contribution understandable. Acknowledge authorship and responsibility. Explain the role of tools. Respect differences between creative disciplines.
These intentions guide the development of the proposed framework.
Criteria
To be developed: definitions of meaningful human contribution, discipline-specific evidence and proportionate documentation requirements.
Governance
To be developed: responsibility for setting criteria, managing conflicts of interest and reviewing decisions.
Verification
To be developed: assessment methods, evidence requirements and procedures for challenging a claim.
Registry
A future registry could make recognised works and the scope of their recognition accessible to audiences. No operational registry or recognised works are presented at this stage.
